Turrkeyyy

Fri Dec 23, 2005, 4:19 AM
This is about my trip to Turke- TURKEY IN THE STRAW! DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH!

-Coughs.- Anyway. There were many cats and dogs in Turkey, and most of them friendly. I loved the cats especially. I went to several Roman City ruins and I also went to TROY, which is where one of the cats I fell in love with stays. The other cat I fell in love with was in a roman ruin called Ephesus, under the House of the Virgin Mary.

Our plane was to Istanbul via Bangkok, and while we were going towards Bangkok, a thunderstorm happened... -Shivers.- I don't want to talk about it...

In Istanbul, we went to a place called the Blue Mosque by tourists. When we were leaving, there was this stray black and white cat sitting on a bench outside. It instantly became the star attraction of our tour group as everyone was sitting beside it and taking pictures. When I sat down on the bench, the cat came and nuzzled me! Awww...

Days later, in a place called Ephesus, we were just walking towards the exit when this pretty cat started meowing on the side of the pathway. Me and my sister squatted down infront of it and it started to rub against us, purring. I think we both fell in love with it. It had a hazel patch covering its ears and three or four more hazel patches on its body, the largest no bigger than your fist. Its tail was gray in color, with a long black stripe running from the beginning to the end, with lighter gray stripes sprouting from it. A pretty cat. I think I'll use it for my roleplaying.

The other one was in the ruins of Troy. It was a cute tortoiseshell kitten with blue eyes. It had a sibling, who was a ginger and white kitten. The ginger and white one kept standing and climbing infront of the ticket sensor and the ticket guy, who was probably their owner, kept having to carry it away so that people could insert their tickets. The tortoiseshell was weaving in and out of our tour peoples' legs and I squatted infront of it. Immediately, it jumped onto my lap. I was surprised, but started stroking it and rubbing it. My mother and father took pictures of me with the kitten on my lap. When I tried to stand, it still clung on to my pants. I couldn't get it off, until another one of our tour people carried it off, laughing. It leapt on several other people of our tour group and wouldn't let go unless someone carried it off.

While we were having the end of our tour in Troy, the kittens running around us, their parents approached us. Guess what color they were! A tortoiseshell and a ginger and white of course! My father was just taking out the lense of his camera and the cats all thought that he had food and started mewing, standing on their hindlegs. IT WAS SO CUTE and they were like meercats. My father flashed a picture of them.

In a Roman ruin called Acropolis, which is on top of a hill, we went to this gigantic Roman theatre(You know, the one for gladiators.) It was fantastic. The stone steps and seats were still there and it was very steep, like sixty degrees. Everyone was edging around carefully except for the guide, who just strolled down the stone steps with us struggling behind. It had the capacity for thirty thousand spectators. AMAZING. And it was shaped so that any sound at the bottom of the theatre could be heard by the spectators on top. Amazing.

I went to Ankara on the second/third day, but I saw no Turkish Angoras. Sorry, Tia. They were probably in the zoo.

That's all. If I remember something else I'll add it on.
